Central Lechera Asturiana has been recertified as a B Corp company with a score of 99.6 points, representing an increase of nearly 17 points compared to its 2020 certification, when it became the first dairy company of Spanish origin and capital to become a B Corp.

The revalidation of this endorsement with this significant growth positions the dairy group as the food company with the highest score among large B Corp companies, a fact that confirms the improvements it has implemented since its initial certification.

Most of the impact areas that are part of this exhaustive performance evaluation process (governance, workers, community, environment, and customers) have shown positive progress over these three years, at which point the recertification process was restarted. Central Lechera Asturiana is above the average national and sector impact scores in every evaluated area, according to data from companies registered in the B Impact Assessment, the free online tool available to all companies wishing to measure their performance. In this regard, the progress made in the environmental and worker areas stands out.

Once again, Central Lechera Asturiana consolidates its position as a company that operates under the umbrella of its purpose, balancing it with profit, which allows it to meet high standards regarding social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, with a firm commitment to generating a positive impact on its environment through the development of its business activities.

Currently, Central Lechera Asturiana is made up of more than 6,500 member farmers, nearly 900 of whom are suppliers. The cooperative works with the goal of guaranteeing their future, providing them with the necessary support to ensure their farms are profitable and efficient, contributing to the development of the social and economic fabric of the territory in which it operates, to produce healthy and natural foods that improve society’s quality of life.
